Why the ImpactLens Writers Challenge?

Many talented writers have valuable ideas but limited opportunities to publish their work. Students write thoughtful essays that never reach a wider audience. Professionals and development practitioners have rich field experiences but few platforms to share them.

Who Can Participate?

The challenge is open to anyone with an interest in writing.

Theme: We invite evidence-based articles and stories on social development, public policy, governance, innovation, and human impact. Topics may range from contemporary issues and current affairs to compelling human stories of change and transformation.

Submission Guidelines

• Articles/stories must be original, unpublished, and non-fictional.
• Each article/story should be 600–1,000 words and accompanied by 3–4 high-quality, relevant photographs. The photographs must be original, free from copyright restrictions, and not AI-generated. Written consent must be obtained from all individuals featured in the photographs before submission.
• Writers may submit up to two articles/stories per month.
• Articles/stories may be submitted in English or any Indian regional language . Submissions received in regional languages (Unicode font) will be translated into English, and both the original language version and the English translation will be published.
• All facts, statistics, and data must be supported by credible and verifiable sources. Citations and references should follow the APA (7th edition) referencing style.
• The use of AI for grammar or language improvement is acceptable. However, the ideas, analysis, arguments, and writing should be the author’s own.
• Plagiarism or excessive AI-generated content will lead to disqualification.
• The editorial team may edit accepted articles for grammar, clarity, formatting, headlines, and images while preserving the author’s original ideas.
• Authors may be contacted for minor revisions before publication.

  Recognition

  The competition will be conducted every quarter, providing regular opportunities for aspiring writers to participate and showcase their work. This edition of the competition will be open from November – December 2026.

  At the end of the quarter, the top three entries will be recognised with the following cash prizes:

  • First Prize: ₹3,000
  • Second Prize: ₹2,000
  • Third Prize: ₹1,000
