In a world where dreams often remain unfulfilled, Ajay, a determined young man from a middle-class farming family in the Yewatmal district of Pune, dared to dream beyond his modest beginnings. The Weight of Struggles: A Tough Beginning
After his BA degree, Ajay took a bold step in 2022 by moving to Pune in search of better opportunities. Despite his qualifications, the journey was an uphill battle, filled with relentless challenges and crushing setbacks. Initially, he worked in the housekeeping unit of Hyatt hotel, a job that paid the bills but did little to fulfill his aspirations. Seeking a better future, he transitioned to a spa massage center in Kharadi, where he spent ten months refining his skills, earning Rs.25,000/- per month.
Despite his progress, a deeper calling pulled at him—the desire to establish his own business. Yet, financial barriers and self-doubt loomed large, whispering fears of failure and uncertainty. “What if the business doesn’t work? How will I manage finances?” These questions haunted him, making his dream seem unattainable.
A Ray of Hope: A New Beginning
Just when Ajay felt his aspirations slipping away, he discovered CYDA. Through their two-day business training program, he gained crucial insights into marketing, business strategies, and the fundamental differences between employment and entrepreneurship—ownership and vision. With a grant of Rs.10,000/- from CYDA, Ajay took his first steps toward entrepreneurship. He invested in essential massage therapy equipment, including a therapy machine and supplies, setting up a home service massage business in Swargate. With a study determination, he also travelled to various locations based on customer requests.
The early days were filled with anticipation and nervous excitement. Would people trust his services? Would his business survive? But as word-of-mouth spread, Ajay found himself overwhelmed with bookings. “Every appointment felt like a small victory,” he recalled, a smile lighting up his face. His dedication and expertise spoke for themselves, and before long, his income rose beyond Rs.45,000/- per month.
