In today’s fast-paced digital world, Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Data Science are transforming industries and shaping the future of technology. Understanding these fields is no longer optional but essential for young minds who aspire to be innovators and changemakers. Recognizing this, CYDA proudly organized a two-day immersive in-person workshop on AI & Data Science on 8th and 9th March 2025 under the AI Skilling Project, facilitated by Mr. Praveen Srivastava, Founder, Thinkar Foundation, Bengaluru. The workshop introduced 20 enthusiastic students to the fascinating world of AI, Machine Learning (ML), and Predictive Analytics, equipping them with skills that are driving the future of technology and decision-making.
- A Glimpse into the Learning Experience:
The workshop was designed to provide a strong foundation in AI and Data Science while ensuring an engaging, hands-on experience. The key highlights of the session included:
Understanding AI & ML Fundamentals – Students were introduced to the core concepts of AI and ML, learning how machines can analyse data, recognize patterns, and make decisions just like humans.
Hands-on Experience with Predictive Analytics – Theory was complemented by practical sessions where students explored predictive models and understood how they help in forecasting trends in various industries.
Real-World Applications of Data-Driven Decision-Making – From healthcare to finance, students saw firsthand how data science is making impactful changes, streamlining processes, and improving efficiency across sectors.
Interactive Discussions on Ethical AI & Career Opportunities – Beyond technical learning, the workshop encouraged students to explore the ethical implications of AI and its responsible use. Discussions also revolved around career pathways and how AI is opening doors to new job roles and entrepreneurial ventures.

The workshop was honoured to have Mr. Praveen Shrivatsa, Director of Asthrasoft Consulting, as a guest speaker. With years of experience in AI and data science, Mr. Shrivatsa shared deep insights into how AI is revolutionizing businesses and everyday life. His talk inspired students to think beyond conventional applications and explore innovative solutions using AI.

Through expert-led sessions, hands-on activities, and interactive discussions, the students gained not just theoretical knowledge but also practical exposure to real-world challenges and solutions. They explored how AI is being used in:
- Healthcare – AI-powered diagnostics, personalized treatment plans, and predictive analysis for disease prevention.
- Finance – Fraud detection, customer behaviour analysis, and automated trading systems.
