CYDA, recognizing the immense potential of AI, has introduced its AI and Data Science course to empower youth with practical knowledge and industry-relevant skills. One inspiring story of transformation is that of Yuvraj Rathod, a 23-year-old from Yerawada slum, whose life took a remarkable turn after enrolling in this course.
Yuvraj’s Background and Struggles
Born into a modest family, Yuvraj’s father worked as an auto driver, and their financial situation was often challenging. Despite completing an Engineering degree from the KJ College of Engineering and Management Research in Kondhwa, Yuvraj found himself ill-equipped to confidently enter the job market. “I always wanted to achieve a meaningful role in my career and ensure my family’s happiness, but I lacked the practical skills to turn my dreams into reality,” he shared.
Unable to afford high fees and donations required by reputed institutions, Yuvraj sought alternatives that would provide quality education at an affordable cost. His journey toward change began when his brother introduced him to CYDA a year ago. Intrigued by their AI and Data Science course, Yuvraj decided to take the plunge.
The Turning Point: Joining CYDA’s Course
The three-month AI and Data Science course proved to be a milestone in Yuvraj’s life. Unlike his engineering degree, which he described as “too theoretical,” CYDA’s course offered a hands-on, practical approach that bridged the gap between academia and the real-world demands of industries.
The course covered foundational topics such as data structures, algorithms, and statistical concepts while introducing advanced tools like Python, Power BI, Canva, and chatbots. “The exposure to these tools and technologies was incredible. I learned not only to use them but also to think critically about how to solve real-world problems,” said Yuvraj.
Beyond technical knowledge, CYDA emphasized personal development. The 40-hour soft skills training helped Yuvraj overcome his fear of public speaking and develop effective communication skills. “This course taught me how to speak confidently in front of an audience. It reduced my stage fear and made me an active listener,” he reflected.
Hands-On Learning and Industry Interaction
One of the course’s unique aspects was its focus on practical applications. Yuvraj actively participated in projects that mirrored real-world scenarios. “For the first time, I was not just learning theories but applying them. This gave me the confidence to tackle challenges that industries face today,” he shared.
The course also provided opportunities to interact with industry experts. Eminent professionals shared their experiences, offering insights into the latest market trends and expectations. “These interactions were invaluable. They helped me understand what employers are looking for and strengthened my understanding of the industry,” he said.
A New Beginning: Career Success
Equipped with technical and interpersonal skills, Yuvraj’s journey culminated in a significant achievement: securing a position as an MIS Executive in CYDA’s Support Unit. In this role, he works with organizational data, contributing to the effective functioning of the organization.
“Getting this job was a dream come true. I now feel independent and confident in my abilities. This course didn’t just teach me skills; it transformed my outlook on life and work,” Yuvraj remarked.
A Ripple Effect of Change
Yuvraj’s transformation has also inspired others in his community. “The course didn’t just help me professionally. It made me sensitive to the challenges faced by others and instilled a sense of responsibility to contribute to my peers’ development,” he said.
