About the Role:

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Project Coordinator to lead and manage our WASH (Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene) programs in Maharashtra, with a primary focus on Pune. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in WASH program implementation, a proven track record of successful project coordination, and a deep understanding of the challenges and opportunities within the region. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the effective delivery of our WASH initiatives and contributing to improved public health outcomes.

Responsibilities:

  • Project Planning and Implementation:
    • Develop and implement detailed project plans, timelines, and budgets for WASH programs in Maharashtra.
    • Oversee the day-to-day implementation of project activities, ensuring adherence to project goals and objectives.
    • Coordinate with field teams, partner organizations, and community stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution.
    • Monitor project progress and identify potential challenges or delays, implementing corrective actions as needed.
  • WASH Program Expertise:
    • Provide technical expertise and guidance on WASH-related issues, including water supply, sanitation, and hygiene promotion.
    • Stay updated on the latest developments and best practices in the WASH sector.
    • Ensure that project activities are aligned with national and state WASH policies and guidelines.
  • Community Engagement and Mobilization:
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with local communities, community leaders, and relevant stakeholders.
    • Facilitate community meetings and awareness campaigns to promote WASH practices.
    • Mobilize communities to participate in project activities and take ownership of WASH initiatives.
  • Monitoring and Evaluation:
    • Develop and implement monitoring and evaluation frameworks to track project progress and impact.
    • Collect and analyze data to assess project outcomes and identify areas for improvement.
    • Prepare regular progress reports and evaluation reports for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Stakeholder Coordination and Reporting:
    • Coordinate with government agencies, NGOs, and other partner organizations.
    • Prepare and submit timely and accurate project reports to donors and stakeholders.
    • Represent the organization at relevant meetings and events.
  • Budget Management:
    • Monitor Project expenditures and ensure adherence to approved budgets.
    • Maintain accurate financial records.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Public Health, Environmental Science, Social Work, Development Studies).
  • 3-5 years of experience in project coordination, preferably in the WASH sector.
  • Proven experience in implementing WASH programs in Maharashtra.
  • Strong understanding of WASH principles and practices.
  • Excellent project management skills, including planning, implementation, and monitoring.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite.

Language Skills:

  • Fluent in English (both spoken and written).
  • Fluent in Marathi (spoken).
